4in1 was born out of the same intention: to create a group, bringing their individualities to the fore ground and creating one sound, one spirit, one unit. Lorenzo Di Maio (guitar), Jean-Paul Estiévenart (trumpet and flügelhorn), Samuel Gertsmans (double bass) and Toon Van Dionant (drums) bring a dynamic repertoire with the common factor: interaction. “Freshness, lyricism,space, diversity, communication” suit well to describe the music of 4in1. The four musicians met each other in a natural process of playing and rehearsing. After playing together for a while, they found out that they had the same approach to music.

"In 2009, the band received the award "Octaves de la Musique".
